Researchers Quicken Drug Discovery Method via Zombie-Like Cells
Dr. Lukasz Ciesla, assistant professor of biological sciences, and other UA researchers discovered a method that uses magnetic nanoparticles coated with a biological cell membrane as a lure to fish out pharmacologically active compounds from plants and other natural organisms.

Historic Gorgas House Furniture Gets New Life
Recently, two pieces, a sofa built in the 1840s and a kneeling/prayer bench built in the 1880s, were reupholstered by the University’s Furnishings and Design Department, which provides interior design and upholstery services to the campus community.
