To The Core

Through global-scale seismic imaging of Earth’s interior, research led by The University of Alabama revealed a layer between the core and the mantle that is likely a dense, yet thin, sunk ocean floor.

Improving Quality of Life

Dr. Susan White, a professor and Doddridge Saxon Chair in Clinical Psychology at The University of Alabama, is a Principal Investigator on a research project who has been awarded a $4 million grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

Using NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory, UA astronomers discovered the first evidence for giant black holes in dwarf galaxies on a collision course, providing insight into our Milky Way’s past.
