Three UA Students Earn Hollings Scholarships
The scholarship provides a two-year academic award of $9,500 per year, and a 10-week, full-time, paid summer internship opportunity at any NOAA facility nationwide. Scholars also receive funding to present their NOAA research projects at two national scientific conferences.

Arts and Sciences to Offer New Global Health Minor
Beginning in the fall of 2020, the College of Arts and Sciences will offer a new minor in global health, which will allow students to get a holistic, thorough look at health disparities and issues in a number of communities around the world.

New College Class Provides Online Arts Workshops
At the beginning of the semester, UA professor Marysia Galbraith had a plan for her community arts class. The New College class would visit Matthews Elementary biweekly, hosting interactive arts workshops for fifth graders. After observing and assisting for a few workshops, the college students would get the chance to lead their own workshops with lesson plans that they developed themselves. Dean’s Message: Moody Music Building Fire

On the night of April 19th, a fire damaged the Million Dollar Band wing of Moody Music Building. The fire was contained after valiant efforts by firefighters and fortunately, no one was inside the building at the time and thus there are no reported injuries. Much of the equipment was secured and moved to another location.
