Art Professor’s Works Featured in New York Gallery

The work of Pete Schulte, an assistant professor of drawing in the College’s Department of Art and Art History, is being showcased in the exhibit “Pardon Up Here,” at the Luise Ross Gallery in New York City through January 12, 2013. Paul Jones Gallery of Art Opens ‘Identity Lessons’

An exhibition of works curated by students in the College opened this week at The Paul R. Jones Gallery of Art. “Identity Lessons” showcases works from the Paul R. Artwork Donated by Callahan, Foote Families

The children of Dr. Alston Callahan, one of the founders of the Callahan Eye Foundation in Birmingham, and Mrs. Eivor Holst Callahan, a 1948 UA alumnus, have donated artwork to the permanent collection of the Department of Art and Art History. The work is a plaster cast of Lovers (Mithuna), a sculpture from the 11th century done in the Khajuraho style of India. Chip Cooper to Participate in Miami Book Fair with Prominent Photographer

Chip Cooper, a well-known photographer and faculty member in the College, will participate in the Miami Book Fair this month alongside Brian Smith, a Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer noted for photographing celebrities such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Sara Jessica Parker, George Clooney, and many more.
