Nestled along the banks of the Black Warrior River, Moundville Archaeological Park hosts its annual Birdfest on April 29, 2023. As a member of the West Alabama Birding Trail, Moundville Archaeological Park is hosting a bird walk with one of the park’s volunteers, Dwight Lammon, at 9 am.

Jr. Archaeology Day

Moundville Archaeological Park is participating in community outreach with Jr. Archaeology Day on Friday, July 21 from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm to learn about the history of Sloss Furnace through archaeological excavation and interpretation. This is a free event and no registration is required. All Ages are welcome and activities are geared towards K-12.

Saturday in the Park is a series of demonstrations and presentations related to Native Americans, archaeology, natural history, sustainable gardening and more! On Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11 am until 2 pm, Guy Meador will be demonstrating flintknapping at Moundville Archaeological Park!
