EXHIBIT: “On the Cover: Books Published by A&S Faculty”
UA Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center 620 Greensboro Avenue, Tuscaloosa, ALCover designs of books by 23 faculty authors in The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences are on display March 3 – March 31, 2023, at The University of Alabama Gallery in the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center in downtown Tuscaloosa. The exhibit, “On the Cover: Books Published by A&S Faculty,” features authors who are internationally recognized scientists, writers, artists and scholars. They represent academic disciplines in three divisions: social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, and humanities and fine arts.

There will be an artist’s reception on Friday, April 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., during Tuscaloosa’s First Friday Art Walk. Brooklyn, New York-based textile artist Michael C. Rose M. Gladney Lecture on Justice and Social Change: “Civil Rights without Human Rights”
Camellia Room, Gorgas Library 711 Capstone Drive, Tuscaloosa, ALProfessor Joseph Darda, associate professor of English at Texas Christian University, will present the 2023 Rose M. Gladney Lecture on Justice and Social Change, titled “Civil Rights without Human Rights.”

Allen Bales Theatre, Rowand-Johnson Hall 348 Stadium Drive, Tuscaloosa, ALWin is a dexterous young waif trying to survive in a war-torn country and struggling to provide for her two younger siblings. Living in a crude, makeshift shelter and adapting themselves to a harsh life on the streets, the appearance of tourists and other outsiders begins to open doors to an unfamiliar world.
