Professor to Strengthen Digital Dynamics of Dance via NEH Grant

Rebecca Salzer, an assistant professor of dance and the interim director of the UA Collaborative Arts Research Initiative, recently received a Digital Humanities Advancement grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to lead an innovative effort, improving online access to digital dance resources for education and scholarship.

Dr. Joshua Rothman, UA historian, is part of an effort to complete a comprehensive database containing every runaway slave advertisement in American newspapers prior to the Civil War. The digital humanities project began about five years ago at Cornell University and is a partnership with UA and the universities of Kentucky and New Orleans.
