“The Problem of Consciousness Revisited,” will be discussed by Dr. Frank Jackson, the second speaker in the 2012-2013 Philosophy Today Lecture Series, which brings well known philosophers to campus to lecture on various topics. He will review some of his research on consciousness that has been very influential in the philosophy community. Legendary Biologist and Pulitzer Prize Winner E.O. Wilson Visits UA as Scholar-in-Residence

Dr. E.O. Wilson, a University of Alabama alumnus and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner will visit as a scholar-in-residence with the College Sept. 11-12. Known as one of the world’s most influential scientists, Wilson is the founder of the theory of sociobiology, which proposes that human and animal behavior is shaped by evolutionary forces,and its offshoot, evolutionary psychology.
