Peer Coaching Program

Program Introduction

Welcome to the Peer Coaching Program (PCP) website, where you will find useful information about what the program is all about and its intended audience. This website will serve as a guide to all who are interested in learning more about PCP. PCP is designed to facilitate and enhance student learning and help create an avenue for interaction among students by employing a trajectory that participants are more familiar and comfortable with. The program fosters a collaborative environment where students can learn from each other and derive motivation for learning in a nonhierarchical setting.

Who is a Peer Coach?

Peer Coaches are students within the College of Arts and Sciences, carefully selected and trained to work with our student population of students who are struggling with academic and social adjustment by providing educational assistance and resources in a way that fellow students may better grasp, in order to boost academic performance in order to enhance their overall wellbeing

Peer Coaches assist students with the following

  • Effectively manage their time and have a successful academic and social life balance
  • Developing effective study skills techniques to enhance student’s academic performance
  • Locating and understanding the importance of utilizing resources on campus
  • Encourage individual growth by helping students be independent and critical thinkers
  • Help students socially acclimatize and find an avenue for social integration.
