Homecoming 2014

Join the College of Arts and Sciences Saturday, Nov. 22 for its annual homecoming celebration. UA faculty, staff, and students and members of the community are invited to attend this event, which will begin around 10:30 a.m. and end around 1:30 p.m. All A&S events will be held at the College’s tent between the Alumni tent and Denny Chimes on University Blvd.

Individual departments and organizations will host the following activities and demonstrations:

  • Ambassadors | Cookbooks and balloons
  • American Studies | American pop culture trivia
  • Anthropology | Excavation station and piece-a-pot
  • Art Ambassadors | Face painting
  • Art & Art History | Pottery demonstration
  • Biology | Live amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles, along with fossils, skulls, and skins; microscopes and activities for kids
  • Chemistry | Fun with liquid nitrogen
  • Communicative Disorders | Demonstrations and face painting
  • Criminal Justice | Child safety IDs (fingerprinting and DNA swabbing)
  • English | Poetry on demand, literary activities
  • Geography | Map display
  • Geology | Fossil dig in pool
  • Music | Music display table
  • New College | Create your own megaphone
  • Philosophy | Philosophical puzzles, pencils, and flyers
  • Physics & Astronomy | Physics demonstrations and hands-on activities with the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and the Women in Physics and Astronomy Club
  • Political Science | Political trivia
  • Religious Studies | Face painting
  • Theatre and Dance | Dance performances and singing
